Joining a Committee

Every parent in our community is welcomed to attend any of our committee meetings. Please speak to the school Principal, Jamila Gaston or call our Main Office at (323) 756-1371. We value your participation and interest in helping us make important decisions regarding the education of our students.

Dates are posted in our Main Homepage. Please call to verify dates or times of meetings as some meetings may be canceled or rescheduled for a later date/time.

SSC- School Site Council

The SSC is the decision-making council for both Bilingual and Title I funds that help with the operaton of the school which helps to improve student achievement.

The make up of this council is 5 parents/community and 5 school staff members for a total of 10.

The SSC shall help develop and approve the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in consultation with all stakeholders (with the review, certification and advice of any applicable school advisory committee, including the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee (CEAC), the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) and the Gifted & Talented Education Program Advisory Committee (Education Code 64001). The members will also have to approve budget transfers and help with the development of school budget.
